FAW-F for Forestry Level 3 (VTQ)™
The FAW-F for Forestry Level 3 (VTQ)™ is a comprehensive first aid qualification designed for people working in forestry, arboriculture, tree surgery, landscaping, estate management and other higher-risk rural and outdoor environments.
Building on the wider knowledge and skills of First Aid at Work, the course incorporates the additional considerations associated with forestry environments, where serious injuries may occur and casualties may be located in remote or difficult-to-access areas.
The course develops the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required to assess and manage a broad range of workplace injuries and medical emergencies, while considering the particular challenges faced by first aiders working in forestry and other higher-risk outdoor settings.
Who is this course suitable for?
The FAW-F for Forestry Level 3 (VTQ)™ may be particularly appropriate for:
- Forestry workers and contractors
- Arborists and tree surgeons
- Chainsaw and machinery operators
- Landscaping and grounds maintenance teams
- Estate and woodland workers
- Countryside and conservation personnel
- Agricultural and rural businesses
- Supervisors and team leaders responsible for higher-risk outdoor operations
- Employees working in remote or difficult-to-access locations
- Organisations whose first aid needs assessment identifies the need for a more comprehensive level of first aid provision
Comprehensive Forestry First Aid Training
FAW-F provides a more comprehensive level of training than the emergency-level EFAW-F qualification, making it particularly suitable where the nature of the work, workplace hazards, workforce size or findings of the organisation's first aid needs assessment indicate that a broader level of first aid capability is required.
Practical training develops learners' ability to respond effectively to workplace emergencies and manage casualties until professional medical assistance is available.
Forestry First Aid Training Across Scotland
Delivered by Vital Signs Scotland as part of our Forestry First Aid and Specialist Emergency Response Training provision, the course emphasises practical skills, realistic scenarios and the application of first aid in challenging working environments.
Group and in-house FAW-F training can be arranged for forestry, arboriculture, landscaping, grounds maintenance and other higher-risk organisations across Scotland.
