Our Dental Immediate Life Support (ILS) Level 3 (VTQ) course provides dental professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to life-threatening emergencies in the dental practice.
Certified by ProTrainings and compliant with UK Resuscitation Council guidelines, this CPD-accredited course meets the General Dental Council (GDC) Development Outcome C and includes the management of medical emergencies as required by the GDC.
Course Aim
To train dental professionals in:
- High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children
- Simple airway management techniques
- Safe defibrillation practices
- Recognising and treating deteriorating patients using the ABCDE approach
- Leadership and teamwork in emergency situations
You will learn to manage patients in cardiac arrest until a cardiac arrest team arrives and to work effectively as a member of that team.
Course Format
Delivered over one day on your own premises, or as an in-house course at one of our training venues, this course combines engaging lectures with practical, hands-on sessions. You will also cover:
- Causes and prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest
- Airway manoeuvres and oxygen delivery
- Medical emergencies in the dental practice
- Effective communication during resuscitation
- Non-technical skills for leadership and team coordination
