Dental BLS concentrates on immediate recognition, CPR, AED use, choking and essential life-support skills. Dental ILS builds on these foundations with ABCDE assessment, broader airway management, the deteriorating patient, medical emergencies, teamworking and a more structured clinical response.
These certificated Dental BLS and ILS courses meet GDC Development Outcome C and follow current Resuscitation Council UK guidance. Your practice or employer should confirm the course level and frequency required for your role.
Dental Basic Life Support Level 2 and Dental Basic Life Support and AED Level 2 are separate certificated courses with substantially similar practical content. Both are retained so dental professionals can select the certification title required by their practice, employer or existing training record.
