Course Description

The FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) is an advanced regulated qualification designed for people who have responsibility for supporting mental health within a workplace or organisation.

The course develops learners' knowledge of a wide range of mental health conditions and gives them the skills and confidence to recognise signs of mental ill health, start supportive conversations, provide appropriate initial support and signpost individuals towards professional help.

It also explores the role of First Aid for Mental Health within the workplace, including action planning and supporting a positive mental health culture.

Distance Learning Format

The qualification is delivered remotely over three days.

Day 1: Live tutor-led distance-learning training.

Day 2: Live tutor-led distance-learning training, completing the required course content and minimum contact hours.

Day 3: Individual assessment appointments. Each learner attends a pre-arranged Zoom appointment of approximately 45–60 minutes for their individual assessment and/or professional discussion.

Learners therefore do not need to remain online for the whole of Day 3.

To allow sufficient time for individual assessment and professional discussion, places are limited to a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 learners per course.

Course manuals will be provided electronically unless a hard copy is requested at the time of booking. Where a printed manual is requested, an additional charge will apply for printing, postage and packaging.

Certificates will be issued digitally following successful completion of the qualification. If a printed certificate is required, this can be requested for an additional charge to cover postage and packaging.

Minimum 4 learners | Maximum 6 learners

Learners must successfully complete the required assessment to achieve the qualification. The qualification is valid for three years, with annual refresher training strongly recommended. Learners must complete the full qualification again to requalify for a further three years.
