Course Description
The FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed to give learners the knowledge and confidence to recognise signs of mental ill health, start supportive conversations, provide appropriate initial support and signpost individuals towards professional help.
The course builds on First Aid for Mental Health awareness by exploring the effects of drugs and alcohol, introducing the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan, and considering ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within the workplace.
The qualification is suitable for employees, designated workplace mental health first aiders, team leaders, supervisors and others who may have responsibility for supporting colleagues.

Distance Learning Format
The qualification is delivered remotely over two days.
Day 1 consists of the live taught course and provides the required minimum 6 contact hours of training.
Day 2 is reserved for individual assessment. Each learner attends a pre-arranged Zoom appointment of approximately 40 minutes for their individual assessment and/or professional discussion. Learners therefore do not need to remain online for the whole of the second day.
To ensure sufficient time for individual assessment and professional discussion, places are limited to a maximum of 6 learners per course.

Delivery:
Live distance learning with individual Zoom assessment
The official qualification requires a minimum of six hours' training and specifies practical assessment and questioning, including open and multiple-choice questions.
Course manuals will be provided electronically unless a hard copy is requested at the time of booking. Where a printed manual is requested, an additional charge will apply for printing, postage and packaging.
Certificates will be issued digitally following successful completion of the qualification. If a printed certificate is required, this can be requested for an additional charge to cover postage and packaging.

Maximum 6 learners per course
Learners must successfully complete the required assessment to achieve the qualification. The qualification is valid for three years, with annual refresher training strongly recommended. The full qualification must be completed again to requalify for a further three years.
